Research conducted by MoveStreets has found that when selling your property, the images are the most influential aspect of the listing in terms of making a good first impression. This was rated above the floorplan, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms and the property description.

The research also revealed that 86 percent of homebuyers expressed that when browsing property listings via the likes of Rightmove, Prime Location or On the Market that the decision to then view a listing in full was due to the main listing photo making a good first impression.

Having great professional quality photos could help increase the chance of a sale, with bad ones discouraging potential buyers from viewing entirely. The report found that three quarters of buyers would bypass a listing if the initial image didn't appeal to them.

When it came to viewing a property listing in full online 79 percent of buyers reported that the photos were the first thing that they looked at first.

As the saying goes, "a picture says a thousand words" has never been truer when it comes to selling your property.
